Export Pre-Advice Booking Validation Rules

At the request of Shipping Lines and both the Ports of Auckland (POAL) and the Port of Tauranga (POTL), PortConnect will be adding additional validation to the Export Pre-Advice process so that Pre-Advice can only be submitted if all details match the Shipping Line booking information.  

From 11 November 2019 PortConnect will be operating a one week trial of the additional validation rules with Maersk and MSC. The additional validation rules are currently scheduled to apply to all Shipping Lines from 18 November 2019.

Submission of a Pre-Advice is a mandatory requirement for all export containers for POAL and POTL via PortConnect’s online portal and B2B XML interfaces. PortConnect has recently started populating container information from bookings into the Pre-Advice screen when the Pre-Advice is started, however users can currently submit details that do not match the booking.

The additional validation will result in PortConnect ceasing to accept or forward to the respective terminals any Pre-Advice information that does not accurately match the booking. 
To resolve booking issues, the pre-adviser will be required to contact the Shipping Line to request that the booking is updated and resent to the port and PortConnect. Once the updated booking information has been received, the Pre-Advice can be submitted.

The Export Pre-Advice User-Guide will be updated to reflect this change prior to the implementation of the validation rules on 18 November 2019 and will be made available via the Export Pre-Advice screen.
